Who are we?
We are a group of graduate student workers who have come together to organize for a better GW. We are doctoral students and master's students; we are international students and domestic students; we are in the humanities and the social sciences, the natural sciences and the professional schools. We are working together to form a labor union to better address our needs and concerns as members of the GW community.
Why a Union?
As mentioned in our public letter, we believe that the best way to improve things at GW - whether it be health insurance or Metro benefits, summer funding or teacher training - is to work together. A union is the best way to act collectively and negotiate our role in the university collaboratively with the GWU administration.
